Well, this picture's taken me so long I can't remember when I started. ^^" It's a submission to *SilentReaper's contest, so, enjoy.

Name: Fasthus Fanseti
Nickname: Fas
Gender: Male
Age: Appears around 18, 19, but is in reality more middle-aged. Died at age 37, but was later resurrected.
Occupation: Death of the Sanhirr Galaxy; formerly the leader and representative of his planet before his death.
Species: Deucti
Appearance: Fas is around 6 foot tall, with an average build. His eyes are dark red in colour. His arms are slightly thinner and weaker than a human's, due to his species' connection with a bird-like 6-limbed ancestor (the added feathered appendages were lost in later years). His hair is slightly longer than shoulder-length and a very dark purple in colour, although he sometimes adds streaks of purest black to fit his occupation. He prefers to wear blue clothes, a sacred colour for his species, and the clothes shown in the picture - a coat specifically designed to fan out at the shoulders and hips - represent the bird-like god that he and his people used to worship. He often adds defensive gear, as he often is forced to journey through war-rent communities.
Personality: Fas is often regarded as cold and aloof, taking life seriously and examining all the options before proceeding. He is a stern father and hard worker, but when not working, he is loving and caring towards his family.
Likes: Fas enjoys a light read, a walk in peaceful scenery with any member of his extended family or a close friend, and swords. Although his occupation traditionally uses the scythe, he prefers to use his custom-built sword, as he believes he can be more accurate with such a weapon. In keeping with this, he also enjoys making and maintaining his small collection of weapons.
Dislikes: Paperwork, although he is used to dealing with large amounts, and anybody who can't use a consistent argument.
Gifts and Talents: Fas is able to do pretty much anything he wants outside of the Living world, as that is the nature of the pocket dimension he and his extended family reside in. Outside of this, in the Sanhirr Galaxy and other "real" dimensions, he is able to levitate objects such as his weapons and small objects, can make himself invisible and intangible, and does not have to be able to breathe to survive (although this is a general charateristic of his species). He is also able to "step sideways" through time - a side effect of living outside of the regular time stream - and teleport between dimensions at will.

Death and the Afterlife: Once a spirit has died, he/she is picked up by a Death and escorted to their Galaxy's House. A House is a place where the managers of the Galaxy - who go by the job titles of War, Famine and Death - are able to live and work from, and for their galaxy's spirits to gain access to the Afterlife from. As one of the many Deaths looking after the Sanhirr Galaxy, Fas is charged with the job of picking up departed spirits and escorting them to the Door by which they access the Afterlife. The job used to entail filing paperwork for each individual spirit passing through, but this rule was overturned when the former ruler of the entire Afterlife was defeated by the owner of the Sanhirr Galaxy's House. Living outside of the galaxy's timeline, Fas is able to spread out his work much more than it may be presumed possible.

History: During his lifetime, Fasthus was forced by his parents into a government career, and took this occupation as far as becoming the representative of his planet at the Galactic Empire. Before his career took him further, an assassin sent by the ruler of the Empire (who had become corrupt) successfully killed him. Brought to the Afterlife by the Death of the House that had previously run the Sanhirr Galaxy, he spent years plotting his revenge against the assassin and the Emperor, only to find that the assassin was a young girl who had been taken over completely by the mind of the Emperor. After this girl had thrown off this control, she regretted all of her acts during it, and at her death Fas was unable to blame her completely for his own death. Protecting her and taking her to the ruler of the Afterlife, they were assigned jobs in a newly formed House.

Gradually falling in love, Fasthus and the girl, Rema, married and had twin sons. Fasthus changed his appearance to that of a teenager (as he was dead his appearance was relatively easy to change), and later persuaded the ruler of the Afterlife to restore his wife and himself to life as a birthday present to her.

Having aided his House in winning a short war against the almost tyrannical rule in the Afterlife, he now lives happily in the House, looking after his children as they go through school, and doing his job of escorting spirits to the Afterlife.
